Tibetan Medical practitioners often suggest taking nutritional supplements given in the form of pills manufactured by the Tibetan pharmacy at Men-Tsee-Khang, the Dalai Lama’s Tibetan Medical Institute in Dharamsala, India. The nutritional supplements contain combinations of specific plant and mineral substances which have been meticulously harvested and processed under carefully regulated conditions. The pharmaceutical department at Men-Tsee-Khang is responsible for the production of about 160 different supplements in various forms, which include decoctions, powders, pills, beverages, butter tonics, and pastes. These supplements are dispensed to branch clinics in India, Nepal and other parts of the world.
