BILL AND ZIHNA JONES
G. William Jones, M.D. with Trinity Bill received his M.D. in 1946 and a Master’s Degree in Internal Medicine from the Mayo Clinic in 1950. He served his internship in Denver County Hospital and his Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Cardiology and Gastroenterology. He served in the Army at Fort Leavenworth from 1950-1952 as Chief of Medicine. As a civilian, he began practicing in Butte, Montana and stayed there for 4 years. He then moved with his family to Des Moines, Iowa and was Vice-President of Equitable as supervisor of the underwriting staff and maintained a practice in Internal Medicine. He retired from Equitable in 1978 and moved to California, where he began studying homeopathy with various people including Bill Grey, and George Vitoulkas. He joined a practice including many types of medicine and practiced homeopathy there. He stayed for 3 years and returned to Minnesota where he set up a homeopathic practice in Minneapolis in 1981. He continued there and eventually semi-retired to practice at home in 1990. He continued in private practice, working with his wife, Zihna, until his retirement in 2006.
He enjoys painting, gardening, reading and continues to have deep concerns over the way people are treated medically at this time. Even in medical school he felt that patients should be treated as a whole person and not as a disease or an individual part. He became very disturbed over the trend for treatment with wholesale drugs and cookie-cutter medical practices. He now acts as a consultant for Zihna as she continues her homeopathic practice and will be teaching classes to educate people on how to keep themselves healthy and treat acute illnesses with homeopathy.
Zihna Jones, D. I. Hom., DHM, Ph.D.
Zihna began working as secretary to Bill Jones in 1990. After they married in 1994, the couple decided that she would go to school to learn more about homeopathy with the hopes of working with Bill in the practice. She studied with the British Institute of Homeopathy earning her Diploma in Homeopathy in April of 1998. The day after she received her diploma, Bill was hospitalized and she had to take over the entire practice in the interim. It was sort of a baptism by fire. She then went on to earn her graduate degree, DHM. In 2002 she received her Doctorate in Natural Health Sciences from Westbrook University. She also has been certified in Bach Flower Remedies.
Zihna and Bill worked as a team for 11 years before his retirement, finding a balance in the male/female input each was able to offer the other. They frequently called their clinic the “Place of hopeless causes” because so many of their patients considered themselves beyond help. By the time Bill retired, they had approximately 1,500 patients between the two of them and were kept very busy. When Bill decided to retire, Zihna decided to continue, with him acting as a consultant. They decided to move to a quieter location than the outskirts of the Minneapolis area and found the valley of Clyde much to their liking. They decided it was the perfect place for Zihna to continue her practice and for Bill to paint and enjoy his well-deserved retirement.
Zihna enjoys reading, power-walking, nature photography, spiritual quests, music, playing guitar and writing. She also makes stone jewelry using the healing properties of stones as another healing tool. She and Bill both do Reiki and energy healing. They look forward to the adventures of living “In the Valley.” |
